ROOTED

Rooted was born way back in the summer of 1998, when three girls Claire, Angela and Hannah decided to put to good use their gifts of dancing. The idea was to encourage churches in Stevenage to worship. In a short space of time they were no longer three but four when Verity was added to their numbers. By this time they were in hot demand performing and providing workshops at a variety of church and secular events in and around Stevenage. In these early days it was the music of the 'World Wide Message Tribe' that really inspired them, but as the group has grown over the years so has their musical tastes and inspirations.

One of the larger events that Rooted have been involved in has been the Firm Foundations festival. Their first time was 1999 and since then, they have joined the Cornerstone bar every year. They are one of the main attractions in the 'dance zone'.

The Rooted makeup continued to change in 1999, when they were joined by Alice, but also the departure of Claire and Angela who left for university. March 2000 saw the biggest change in Rooted were joined by four new girls - Holly, Claire, Laura and Rachel were all added to their numbers.
