Youthleaders' Info
welcome to the Cornerstone website

The members of the Sungano team due to visit Stevenage were denied Visas to enter the UK. The British Government Visa office in Pretoria rejected all the applications. Cornerstone has galvanised support, for these decisions to be overturned, from different prominent members of the Stevenage community, including Barbara Follet MP for the area. We are hoping that the Visas will be granted and a visit can be arranged sometime in 2009. Please keep praying for all involved.

A visit is planned, this October, of young people from our 'sister' inter-church youth group Sungano (based in Kadoma, Zimbabwe which is 'twinned' with Stevenage).

Sungano has chosen the 14 individuals we are hoping to bring over and the race is on to get them here. Of those coming some needed to get a passport, six of which were done in record time, with two more to go! The next necessity is to get Visas for entry into the UK. The team have submitted the applications in Harare, and we are all waiting on the decisions.

Please pray that the last two passports and applications are processed swiftly and that the visas are granted to the whole team.

Cornerstone has reached the next major milestone in it's journey to becoming a Charity. Companies House registered Cornerstone on the 29th May 2007 as a private company limited by guarantee. The next step will see documents being submitted to the Charity Commission to recognise our charitable nature....
